Are you feeling stressed, pressured, unable to concentrate or relax?

Can you remember how it feels to be without the negative stressors associated with various types of change?

Do you know the different types of stress and how they affect your physical and mental health?

Have you been effective in managing your stress and promoting health?

Stress can be a major contributing factor to health ailments such as lowered immune system effectiveness, increased anxiety, ulcers, cardiovascular diseases, migraines, muscle tension, poor weight management, and dental grinding, among other issues.

Other interesting facts about stress:

§          40% of worker turnover is due to stress.

§          On Mondays, the risk for heart attacks soar by 33% (San Francisco Chronicle)

§          1 in 4 employees view their jobs as their #1 stressor.

§          It is estimated that 1 million workers are absent on a given work day due to stress (American Institute of Stress)

§          80% of teachers report feeling stressed at work (The Source, Public Management Journal)

§          Depression is a stress reaction and is predicted to be the leading occupational disease.

When people want to learn to successfully cope with and manage stress, physical health may in turn be considerably higher, reducing the days absent from work or family and increasing mental well-being. With the reduction of stress and anxieties associated with it, performance levels, concentration, and confidence should increase as well. Also available (found on the Products page of this site) are relaxation and stress management audio CD's by our I/O psychologist, Gwynne N. Dawdy.

Through coaching or workshops offered by Peak Strategies, clients will be educated on the reasons and affects of stress, and will be offered techniques to manage the stressors. With coaching, the triggers behind the stress symptoms are also explored. This encourages clients to further strengthen their stress management techniques, as well as strengthen those areas which may be triggering the stress response.
